NBC puts Las Vegas in spotlight

It’s another one of those nights when you have to figure the Las Vegas tourism board REALLY wishes what happened there would stay there.

On NBC at 9, “Dateline” looks at a Vegas crime story involving a husband, a wife and “Four Shots Fired.” (Somebody call “CSI!”)

Then, at 10, the peacock follows with a repeat of its “Las Vegas” drama series that involves a high roller, an assassination attempt, a lawsuit-minded stripper and a mass wedding that appears to be going off the rails.

Fun, fun, fun. But it’s about the best TV has to offer tonight.

This may be the nadir of the annual June TV lull, though, as new shows begin to land on Fox and other channels next week.

“Dateline” also airs at 8.

Highlights

“George Lopez,” ABC at 8: Repeat. Carmen has a new boyfriend. As long as no one sees them together.

“What I Like About You,” WB at 8: In order to help Val land her first client, Holly befriends the author’s troubled daughter, Tina (new regular Allison Munn). Repeat.

“Married to the Kellys,” ABC at 8:30: Repeat. Tom’s new friend tormented Susan in high school.

“Grounded for Life,” WB at 8:30: A gift certificate for an in-home couples massage has Claudia and Sean expect a relaxing evening at home. Like that’ll happen. Repeat.

“Hope & Faith,” ABC at 9: Hope tries to fire her maid, and wackiness ensues. Repeat.

“JAG,” CBS at 9: An accidental death onboard ship or was it? Repeat.

“Reba,” WB at 9: Back to back repeats. In the first, everyone ends up talking about their experience with the weed, and Reba’s the only one who’s clean. Then, at 9:30, Reba thinks it’s funny that Barbra Jean believes her house is haunted until Barbara Jean insists on moving in with Reba.

“Life with Bonnie,” ABC at 9:30: Bonnie’s guest is a marriage therapist. Repeat.

“20/20,” ABC at 10.

“48 Investigates,” CBS at 10: Repeat reunites identical twins.

Family Fare

“Joan of Arcadia,” CBS at 8: God tells Joan to join an urban jump rope team, and when she does, she finds one of the other girls is homeless.

Cable Cast

“Jaws,” Bravo at 8: Maybe this is the show of the night, come to think of it. Get your summer started with the classic 1975 Steve Spielberg blockbuster about a very large shark and a very small boat. Roy Scheider, Richard Dreyfuss and Robert Shaw are onboard. (Repeats at 10:45.)

“Zenon: Z3,” Disney Channel at 8: Kirsten Storms is the sci-fi heroine, this time on an adventure involving colonization of the moon. (Repeats at 9:40.)

“Deadwood,” HBO at 8: The past three episodes of the gritty HBO western drama repeat in order.
