RiverHawks edged on the road in Wenatchee, 4-3
The Wenatchee AppleSox brought in what proved to be the winning run with a two-out, infield hit in the fifth inning as the Spokane RiverHawks fell on the road, 4-3, in their Pacific International League baseball game.
The RiverHawks collected 11 hits but still came out on the short end as Alan Cannell (0-1) took the loss despite going the distance.
Jon Meacham (1-2) picked up the win with Kyle Wright getting the save, after entering the game in the eighth inning.
The AppleSox did all their damage with 10 singles.
Spokane’s Matt Robinson was 2 for 4 with two RBIs. Teammate Derek Dupree was 2 for 5 with a run-scoring single.
The RiverHawks are off until Monday when they will play at Bend, Ore., in the first game of a four-game set.
The team returns home July 2 for an extended homestand which opens with Wenatchee and will include Portland and Bellingham.
