Most incumbents keep their jobs in Colville Tribes’ election

Only two incumbents failed to win re-election in Saturday’s Colville Confederated Tribes general election for seven of 14 positions on the tribal council.

Incumbents Richard A. Swan and Lucille Pakootas finished second in the May primary election and had been voted out of office when general election results were tabulated Thursday.

Here are the general election results, with the top vote-getters listed first:

Inchelium District

Position 1: D.R. Michel, 323; Randy Finley, 227.

Position 2: Gail M. DeLaCruz, 319; Richard A. Swan, 242.

Keller District

Position 1: Jeanne A. Jerred, 107; Lee A. Adolph, 89.

There was no other position open in the district.

Nespelem District

Position 1: Harvey Moses Jr., 368; Preston Boyd, 230.

Position 2: Gene H. Joseph, 332; Lucille Pakootas, 277.

Omak District

Position 1: Michael E. Marchand, 370; Bernard Charley, 263.

Position 2: Louella Anderson, 328; Shirley K. Charley, 307.
