Yes, Martin wants to be a dad

Q: I remember reading once that (singer/actor) Ricky Martin said his greatest ambition is to be a father. I just heard that he feels he’s now ready to take that step. Can you provide more information on that? — Jesse H.

A: Ricky Martin, who has no children of his own, recently told a television show that he wants 20 offspring. (No word about how that might sit with his future wife.) He says he can’t wait until he’s able to return from work every day and hear the young voices call out, “Daddy’s home.” (Of course, with 20 kids — and barring several instances of multiple births — some of the voices might not be that young.)

In any event, until Martin starts his own family, he remains involved in a campaign to stop child prostitution. He calls this the “new slavery of our times.” His work is part of his ongoing crusade through his “People for Children” foundation, which reaches out to child victims of exploitation and other abuse.
