Pusser’s new story has a rocky future

“Bruce Lee Lives.” That’s an interesting observation. I mean, John Galt lives. Frodo lives. But neither of them lives in River Park Square , at least as far as I can tell. But Spokane’s favorite downtown shopping mall is where I read the above quotation tonight, written on a yellow stick-em note attached to the rail of the escalator I was riding. Since I was just leaving the AMC 20 Cinemas , following a sneak preview of the new version of “Walking Tall,” which stars The Rock, I think a more appropriate statement would be: Buford Pusser lives. Based on the new movie, though, I’m not sure that’s such a good thing. In fact, I’m sure it isn’t. Now, if this were Bruce Lee we were talking about… .
