SANDPOINT— The Public Forum on Sustainability and the Sandpoint Public Library are co-sponsoring a forum on communication May 25.

The forum, “Mass Media and Grass Media: The Community Voice” will look at what defines grass-roots media and mass media and how together they facilitate a community’s understanding of itself while promoting community discussion and problem solving.

Representatives from local media will discuss their goals and role in facilitating community discussions and problem solving.

Panelists include David Keyes of the Bonner County Daily Bee, Trish Gannon of River Journal, Kristen Mico of the Sandpoint High School Cedar Post and Gary Graham of The Spokesman-Review. Other panelists are Yontan Gonpo of Panhandle Community Radio, Chris Bessler of Sandpoint Online and Mary Strickley of Northland Cable/Community Access TV.

The Public Forum on Sustainability works to bring together local residents and experts in various fields to explore current thinking in sustainability. Different topics are addressed each month.

The 7 p.m. forum is at the Sandpoint Public Library, 1407 Cedar St. For more information, call (208) 255-5898 or (208) 255-4236.
