Someday, Frasier might be back in the building again

“Frasier” may be over, but Kelsey Grammer isn’t shutting the door on the idea of bringing back his long-running Frasier Crane character on another television series. Grammer said he had discussed the idea with Paramount, the company that produces “Frasier,” but there have been no definite plans.

“I’m not closed to the possibility,” Grammer said, adding: “It would have to be really good.”

Grammer said he’d like some time off from the character, holding off any possible return until “when the television landscape is appropriately bleak.”

Including his stint on “Cheers,” Grammer has portrayed the pompous psychiatrist for a full 20 years on network television. That ties James Arness of “Gunsmoke” for the longest stretch an actor has played a single character in prime time.

“The idea of him going on with the character is totally plausible,” said actor David Hyde Pierce, who played Frasier’s brother, Niles. “I don’t feel at the end of the series that he’d exhausted all he could do with the character. I think it’s a great idea.”

Maybe, if somebody calls him a cab

Officially, Andy Kaufman died of lung cancer on May 16, 1984. But according to legend, the eccentric comedian and “Taxi” TV star said if he were faking, he’d resurface 20 years later to the day.

So, just in case, a party is being planned by Bob Zmuda, Kaufman’s best friend and partner, at the House of Blues in Los Angeles on Sunday.

“Over 100 personal ads will be taken out across the country and abroad, reminding him of his words. Will he show?” Zmuda asked on the Comic Relief Web site.

But is Canada really proud of Pam?

Former “Baywatch” babe Pamela Anderson has fame, fortune, fabulous looks — and now her U.S. citizenship.

Anderson, 36, who was born in British Columbia, underwent an interview and passed a 10-question citizenship test Wednesday, then was sworn in at a private ceremony.

“I felt it was important to become a U.S. citizen in order to vote in the United States,” she said. “I have no intention of giving up my citizenship in Canada and am very proud to be a Canadian.”

MTV looking for those “Mean” teen viewers

Lindsay Lohan, the 17-year-old star of “Mean Girls,” will host this year’s MTV Movie Awards, to be broadcast on June 10.

D12, the Beastie Boys and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs are among the bands scheduled to perform. “Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl” leads with six nominations, including best movie and best on-screen team for co-stars Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom.

Not as sorry as we are, Courtney

Don’t look now, but grunge goddess Courtney Love might be lining up her own reality TV show.

In a rather incoherent Internet posting, Love (or at least someone pretending to be her) wrote: “I also wanna say im so embarrassed about this tabloid (stuff) thats happening. So YES i am going to do a expletive REALITY show. Im sorry i have to.”

Love, who was arraigned Thursday on charges of assault and reckless endangerment for allegedly hitting a fan with a microphone stand during a March concert, also faces misdemeanor drug and disorderly conduct charges in a separate case.
