Event to aid youths’ pilgrimage

The Episcopal Cathedral of Saint John the Evangelist will host a wine tasting and silent auction on Saturday to raise money for the cathedral’s youth pilgrimage trip to California.

High school age children from the cathedral plan to deepen their spirituality by participating in the pilgrimage in June. The trip requires the young adults to attend four prayer services and a Bible study daily as well as keep a journal of their time.

Held at the cathedral, 127 E. 12th Ave., the wine-tasting and auction event includes a performance by the Cheney High School Intermediate and Mixed Choirs and their dance group, Music in Motion.

Silent auction items include a steak dinner including cocktails and music served at your home for eight, or a desert night under the stars.

Tickets are $15 per person and include hors d’oeuvres and wine donated by California Classic Wines.

Event begins at 6 p.m. Call 838-4277 for more information.
