Actually, we did sort of wonder what’s eating her

OK, our obsession with carbohydrates has officially gotten out of control: Avril Lavigne said the lyrics to her songs were so angry because she was eating too many carbs. The “Complicated” singer, out promoting her new album, “Under My Skin,” blames her bad dietary habits for her former angst.

“I was eating bad stuff,” Lavigne said. “Lots of sugar and carbs, junk food all the time. It makes you very irritated. I spent some time with a nutritionist and learned I had low blood sugar. Now I eat accordingly.”

Lavigne dismissed rumors that she’s dating Justin Timberlake, but acknowledged spending time with shock rocker Marilyn Manson — though she denies they’re romantically involved.

“When we’re in the same city, we get together, and he’s so cool,” Lavigne said. “One time, we hung out in his room and watched movies.

“I went to his show a couple of times and we hung out on the tour bus after. When we’re together it’s really cool because we just sit there and totally talk. It’s so healthy when I can sit down and talk to another artist who’s doing what I’m doing.”

Next up: Kelly’s Kranky Krunch, soaked in whine

A New Jersey ice cream shop is serving up flavors honoring rocker Ozzy Osbourne and his wife, Sharon.

Owners of Woodbridge’s Country Cow Creamery sent an e-mail in January offering to design an ice cream flavor in talk show host Sharon’s honor. The Osbournes accepted the offer, and asked for a flavor for Ozzy, too.

The result: Ozzy’s Carnivorous Carrot Cake, cinnamon spice ice cream with carrot cake soaked in hazelnut liqueur, and Death by Sharon, a deep dark chocolate ice cream with dark chocolate fudge and bits of chocolate brownie soaked in Godiva liqueur.

It’s two, two, two twits in one

Pop tart Jessica Simpson and her younger sister, Ashlee, will star in commercials marketing Hershey’s new breath mints beginning next week.

In the spots, the two debate whether the Ice Breakers Liquid Ice breath mint is liquid or ice — a play off Simpson’s confusing Chicken of the Sea tuna with real chicken on her MTV show, “Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica,” with husband Nick Lachey.

Some kids just don’t have a lick of sense

Another Jessica Simpson-sponsored product — the new line of edible body creams in her Dessert Beauty line — is drawing fire from those who fear they encourage kids to indulge in sex games.

“She’s sending a message of sexuality and sensuality that needs to be screened,” said New York sex therapist Dr. Jane Greer, who wants warning labels on the creams. “Parents need to know that kids just can’t go straight for desserts until they’ve had dinner — dessert being sex, and dinner being the establishing of a mature relationship.”

Scrooge? Seems more like a ghost to us

Kelsey Grammer, who bid farewell last week to his NBC comedy “Frasier,” will star as Scrooge in the network’s new musical version of “A Christmas Carol,” co-starring Jason Alexander and Jennifer Love Hewitt.

Good night, and … well, forget about tomorrow

It is, however, sayonara to “Saturday Night Live” for Jimmy Fallon. Fallon, 29, who joined the NBC comedy show in 1998, announced that he was leaving at the end of his “Weekend Update” segment with Tina Fey on Saturday, the last original episode of the season.
