Otter challenger drops out of race

BOISE — Democratic businesswoman Naomi Preston is dropping her bid to challenge GOP Rep. Butch Otter, citing financial and personal reasons.

The Eagle resident said Monday she had agreed to run in March, but discovered it was too late to raise any real campaign funds. When her mother had an accident, she said she decided to call it quits.

Democratic Party Chairwoman Carolyn Boyce said she hoped the party can find a successor in next month’s state convention.
