Plant sale - Gardeners of Spokane will sell annuals, perennials, vegetables and herbs from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday at the Hutton Settlement greenhouse on Upriver Drive in Millwood. (467-9804)

Deer Park plant sale - The North Country Organic Growers will hold a plant sale on Saturday from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Deer Park Fairgrounds. (509-276-2583)

Bird walk – Marian Frobe will lead a walk on Saturday at 9 a.m. around the Pine Lakes area to see the colorful ducks and the returning songbirds. The spring flowers are in bloom, too. Bring lunch in case you want to extend your day on your own. Call 328-0621 by today for meeting location.

Spring blooms - Join Suzanne Schwab and native plant botanists on Saturday at 9 a.m. to explore the abundant flowering plants of the Turnbull Refuge. Meet at the Winslow pool area parking lot, by the large restrooms. Bring a sack lunch. Donation: $10. (328-0621)

Sundays in the Garden series - Sunday’s event will be on “Lilacs of Manito Park” and June 13 will be “Tour and History of the Nishinomiya Japanese Garden.” Talks are at 2 p.m. in Manito Park’s Manito Meeting Room, east of Gaiser Conservatory. Free admission. (456-8038)

Bird, plant fair - The annual Backyard Bird and Plant Fair will be held June 5-6 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at Firwood Nursery. Co-sponsored by the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife and Spokane County Master Gardeners, there will be tours and information on naturalized landscapes, along with vendors and volunteer groups to discuss gardening and wildlife. Spokane Orchid Society - Monthly meetings are held the second Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Manito meeting room. The next meeting will be June 9.
