Church of the Master changes worship times

Lutheran Church of the Master will have only one service Sunday at 9:30 a.m. in the sanctuary. Beginning June 6 through Aug. 29 the summer schedule will include worship and praise service at 8:30 a.m. in the Gathering Place, with the traditional worship at 10 in the sanctuary. There will be no Sunday school during the summer.

Church of the Master’s vacation Bible school will be June 21 through 25. Registration is now under way. Call the church at 765-1002 for more information.

Barbecue potluck

Faith Presbyterian Church, 9485 Maple Ave. in Hayden will have a family barbecue potluck next Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church. The film “Finding Nemo” will be shown. Visitors are welcome. Bring a dessert or side dish. For more information, call the church at 772-2372.

New summer schedule

Calvary Lutheran Church at 1011 N. Compton St. in Post Falls has a new summer Sunday worship time of 9 a.m. Holy Communion is celebrated every Sunday. Christian education will resume in the fall. Many new groups are being formed including Bible studies, quilting, scrapbooking, kids’ club, youth group and many fellowship activities.

Register now for fall Calvary preschool, Tuesdays through Thursdays from 9 to 11:30 a.m. for 3 to 5-year-olds. For more information, call Calvary Lutheran at 773-5321.

Barbecue hoedown fund-raiser

Youths of Christ the King Lutheran Church, 1700 Pennsylvania, are holding a fund-raiser barbecue hoedown on June 12 from 6 to 9 p.m. in the church gym for a donation of $8.

The money is being raised for 30 high school students to go to Orlando, Fla., for a Lutheran national youth gathering. For tickets to the barbecue, call 769-7096 or 762-8314. Advance reservations are appreciated. The menu is Texas-style barbecue beefbrisket, chili with beans, green salad, dinner roll and beverage. There will also be entertainment.

Revival services scheduled

Post Falls Baptist Church, 1608 N. Spokane, will have a series of revival services June 6 through 11 with Georgian evangelist Bill Sturm. Evening services will be at 7 p.m. each night, and the Sunday services will be at 8 and 11 a.m. For more information, call the church at 773-5870.
