CenterStage will serve up a hefty helping of comedy

CenterStage opens “Pot Luck: A Salad of Seldom Seen Stories Served A la Carte” tonight as its newest dinner theater offering.

This is part of a series of one-man stage comedies based on the writings of the national best-selling local humorist Patrick F. McManus and starring CenterStage artistic director Tim Behrens.

This show draws from a number of McManus’ best-loved stories, including “The Grasshopper Trap,” “The Invasion of the Space Aliens,” “The Lone Ranger Strikes Again,” “The Canoe Doctor,” “The Ending to the Old Ed Story,” “A Lecture on Ethics” and “The Ghost at Misty Lake.”

This show is a replacement for the previously announced “Voices,” which has been delayed.

The run begins tonight and continues every Thursday, Friday and Saturday through Nov. 20 (except Nov. 13). Cocktail service begins at 6 p.m., with dinner at 6:30 and the show at 7:30. There will also be one matinee, Nov. 7, with lunch at 1 p.m. and the show at 2.

Tickets for dinner and the show are $39. Show-only tickets (including dessert and beverage) are $19 for adults, $15 for students with valid ID.

Tickets are available by calling the CenterStage box office at 747-8243, and (with fees) through TicketsWest outlets (325-SEAT, 800-325-SEAT, www.ticketswest.com).

CenterStage is at 1017 W. First Ave.
