Musical instruments stolen from Restoration Station

Thieves stole antique musical instruments from a Spokane Valley store during the weekend.

Burglars took a trumpet, saxophone and banjo from the Restoration Station, 17325 E. Sprague Ave., according to a press release from the Spokane Valley Police Department. Thieves also stole a drum set, conga drum and other electronic and musical equipment. All told the items were worth $5,000, according to Police.

The theft was discovered Sunday at 12:30 p.m. when the manager, who also lives over the store, came home from church to find the items missing. It appears the thieves got into the building through an unlocked back door, Police said.

The manager told police two suspicious men were in the store Friday and might have unlocked a back door before leaving. One of the suspicious males had the words “pain” and “lust” tattooed on his arms.

FabTech employees hold theft suspect

A man allegedly seen breaking into cars was tackled by employees of a Spokane Valley business.

Employees at FabTech, 222 S. McKinnon Road, saw a man breaking into vehicles at the business about 6:15 a.m. Tuesday, according to a press release from the Spokane Valley Police Department.

The suspect allegedly fought with employees, who eventually wrestled the man to the ground and held him until officers arrived, Police said.

The suspect had allegedly broken into cars and tried to steal a computer earlier that morning at nearby J&P Meat Processing, 210 S. McKinnon Road. Employees tried to stop the suspect at that time, but he escaped.

Steven P. White, 652 S. Fiske, was arrested on felony charges of burglary and theft. White could also be charged with misdemeanor assault and vehicle prowling.

Snowplow equipment stolen last weekend

Snowplow equipment was stolen from a Spokane Valley business over the weekend.

Employees at Ultimate Truck and Accessories, 15 N. Argonne Road, discovered the thefts Monday morning. Boxed snowplow mounting and hydraulic equipment were stolen from the fenced yard, according to a press release from the Spokane Valley Police Department. The loss was estimated at $3,300, Police said.

The thief had partially disassembled the gate to get into the yard, police said.

Cigarettes missing in smash and grab at Harvest Foods

A thief smashed glass out of a closed store to steal cigarettes.

An alarm brought officers to Harvest Foods, 14515 E. Trent Ave., just after midnight Sunday. Spokane Valley Police Department officers found a rock had been used to smash the glass in the front of the store, according to a police department press release.

An employee told officers it appeared only cigarettes were missing.

Man held on theft, meth charges

An officer waiting to buy cheese at the grocery store chased a suspected thief Friday.

Bob Sola, an officer with the Spokane Valley Police Department, was waiting in a check-out line at Tidyman’s grocery store, 13014 E. Sprague Ave., when a security officer alerted him to an alleged thief running from the store.

Sola chased the man, eventually catching him in the parking lot, according to a press release from the police department.

Sola found 22 packages of cold medicine inside the man’s shirt, police said. The medicine contained ephedrine, an ingredient used to make methamphetamine. Officers also allegedly found a three-page recipe for making meth in the man’s pocket.

Sean F. Moore, 33, of Coeur d’Alene was arrested on suspicion of third-degree theft and on suspicion of having ephedrine with the intent of manufacturing meth, a felony. He was booked into the Spokane County Jail.
