The Lakeside High School Band is going to Disneyland. They have been invited to perform in Disney’s Magic Music Days in April. Performing groups from around the world audition for the honor of being part of the Disney show.

The band selected the theme, “Hear our sound, we’re Disney-bound.” Each student must raise $679 to make the trip. This will be accomplished through fund-raising projects such as car washes, candy and candle sales, the sale of a home-built playhouse, and a silent auction.

The silent auction and concert will be held at 6:30 p.m., Nov. 5 in the school gym, 5909 Highway 291 in Suncrest. There will be door prizes and auction items, including guided fishing trip, senior photos, free car rentals, special hotel accommodations, autographed basketballs, bicycles, gourmet food baskets and more.

G-Prep open house

Gonzaga Prep will hold an open house from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday at the school, 1224 E. Euclid Ave. The open house is for parents, grade school and middle school students interested in attending Gonzaga Prep.

Faculty, students and staff will be presenting Prep’s academic programs and activities.
