Wisconsin officer to be Boise police chief

BOISE – The City Council on Tuesday is expected to confirm Capt. Mike Masterson of Madison, Wis., as Boise’s next police chief.

Masterson was one of two finalists selected for the job by a search panel. Mayor Dave Bieter tapped Masterson for the job last week.

Masterson would succeed Don Pierce.

The selection of Masterson came after a widely publicized process.
