Fast-food robber not fast enough

From staff reports

Police say a man was arrested Tuesday night after robbing Carl’s Jr. in downtown Spokane.

The man came to the restaurant by cab about 10:45 p.m., said Cpl. Phil Lasswell, of the Spokane Police Department. He allegedly grabbed a money bag and, when employees tried to stop him, he said he had a gun.

The man was a restaurant employee and was supposed to work Tuesday night, Lasswell said. After leaving the restaurant, he was not allowed back into the cab, and he left on foot, Lasswell said.

The suspect, who was wearing a Carl’s Jr. uniform, was found by police minutes after the robbery, at Fifth and Stevens, Lasswell said. Police retrieved the money but did not find a gun on the suspect, whom they did not identify.
