The Spokesman-Review

The Eastern Washington University Libraries will host “Oktoberfest, Old West,” their annual fund-raiser, from 6 to 10:30 p.m., Oct. 9 at Kennedy Library on the Cheney campus.

Butch Booker will be running the live and silent auctions, and in keeping with the Old West theme, Longhorn Barbecue will be providing the dinner. Wine and beer tasting will be provided by Latah Creek, Knipprath Cellars, Coeur d’Alene Brewing and Northern Lights. Nonalcoholic beverages will also be provided. All proceeds benefit the libraries Collection Endowment Fund.

This year’s auction items include an Aces-E-Z Go golf cart, a bicycle, gift baskets, artwork, vacations, entertainment packages, a football signed by 77 Seahawks players and coaches, a laptop computer and other electronic equipment.

Raffle tickets will be sold for $1 for a queen-sized quilt made especially for Oktoberfest 2004 by the Pieceful Eagles Quilt Guild.

Tickets are $30 each or $150 for a reserved table of six. Student tickets are $15. Call 359-2264 for more information or visit www.library.ewu.oktoberfest.
