Even when you’re married to Brad, life can be the pits

Jennifer Aniston says the real reason behind her breakup with Brad Pitt is that the fairy-tale marriage made her feel too insecure.

“Marriage brought up all the kinds of things I pushed to the back burner – the fear, the mistrust, the doubts and the insecurities,” the former “Friends” star says.

“Brad is the kindest person I know and the sweetest goofball on the planet. He helps you with your chair in restaurants and opens the car door for you. He’s a gentleman and accepted me with all of my dysfunction and insecurities and struggles.”

But she says she always felt inferior to him and that their relationship went through “rough and nasty” patches.

Despite rumors that she put her career above Pitt’s desire for a family, Aniston says she wants children.

“Babies are so magical that I want at least one of my own,” she says.

Like your mom, or your dad, or your dog

Britney Spears, who finally fessed up to being pregnant on Tuesday, tells a 10-year-old interviewer that she has no regrets about marrying Kevin Federline.

Los Angeles schoolgirl Veronica You wrote to Spears after hearing she was staying at a local hotel and asked for an interview for the school newspaper – to which Spears replied, “Ask anything you want.”

Spears denied reports that her marriage has hit the rocks, saying the best thing about her relationship with Federline was “just having somebody that always has your back no matter what. No matter what goes wrong, somebody is there for you.”

Suppose Jack Nicholson’s next?

Teen queen Lindsay Lohan is denying media speculation that she’s secretly dating actor Christian Slater.

Slater, who recently filed for divorce, reportedly was a regular visitor to Lohan’s trailer on the set of her latest movie, “Just My Luck.” But her spokesman says: “I was told he was visiting the head of photography.”

It’s the second older man Lohan has been linked to this year. Last month she and Bruce Willis fervently denied rumors they had a two-month relationship.

Drinkin’ drivin’ daddy

Michael Lohan, Lindsay’s troubled, 44-year-old father, pleaded not guilty Tuesday to an upgraded felony charge in connection with a fiery late-night car crash on Long Island in February.

He initially was charged with driving while intoxicated and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended or revoked license. That was upgraded to aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle after investigators learned he had a prior DUI conviction.

Joaquin checks in, but Billy’s moving out

Singer Billy Joel, no stranger to auto accidents in recent years, has checked out of a California rehabilitation center a month after entering the facility for treatment of alcohol abuse.

Meanwhile, 30-year-old actor Joaquin Phoenix has checked into an undisclosed rehabilitation facility to deal with his alcohol problems.

His brother River Phoenix died of a drug overdose in 1993 outside a Los Angeles nightclub.
