FBI: Be on lookout for fugitive

From staff reports

The Federal Bureau of Investigation is seeking the public’s help in locating one of the organization’s Top Ten Most Wanted fugitives, sought in connection with three murders.

The FBI learned Thursday that Jorge Alberto Lopez-Orozco may be in the Spokane area. The 29-year-old man is wanted in connection with the 2002 shooting deaths of his former girlfriend and her two sons, ages 2 and 4, the FBI said.

The bodies were discovered in Elmore County, Idaho, near the Snake River, inside the burned-out shell of a car Lopez-Orozco had been driving. The victims had each been executed by a gunshot prior to being burned inside the car, the FBI said.

In July 2002, Lopez-Orozco contacted the victim at the home of one of her relatives, where he picked her up along with her two young children. The bodies were found in mid-August.

Lopez-Orozco contacted his brother and sister-in-law, Simon Lopez-Orozco and Maria Garcia, who picked him up and took him to San Jose, Calif., the FBI said. Both Simon Lopez-Orozco and Garcia are wanted by the Elmore County sheriff for being accessories to first-degree murder, and by the FBI for unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.

A $100,000 reward is offered for information that leads to the arrest of Jorge Lopez-Orozco, who has been charged with three counts of first-degree murder. Anyone with information should call the Spokane office of the FBI at (509) 747-5195.

Lopez-Orozco is described as Hispanic, 5-foot-7, 175 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. He uses the alias of Raul Solario.
