Tubbs Hill cleanup planned

Starbucks Coffee is sponsoring a litter pickup on Tubbs Hill, May 14 from 9 to 11 a.m.

Starbucks will donate $10 per person, per volunteer hour to the Tubbs Hill Foundation with a maximum donation of $1,000.

Sign-up sheets, litter bags and free coffee will be available at the Third Street entrance.

Spring home makeover

Keller Williams Realty Coeur d’Alene Market Center team is planning a spring home makeover for Buck and Kadeen Creed, Coeur d’Alene residents who both recently lost their jobs.

Next Saturday, depending on the weather, team members and volunteers will paint the Creeds’ home and spruce up their landscaping.

A bank account has been established at Washington Mutual to accept contributions toward the effort; contact Dave West at 292-3455.

Volunteers are also welcome to join and donations of materials are appreciated.

Regional conference

The public is invited to attend a Submarine Birthday Ball and Banquet held in conjuction with a regional conference hosted by the Farragut Base of the United States Submarine Veterans Inc.

The conference, today and Sunday at Templin’s Red Lion Resort in Post Falls, features a tour of the Naval Acoustic Research Center in Bayview, Idaho, and a banquet and ball celebrating the 105th year of submarine service.
