SHORC gets new home

If you’re unfamiliar with SHORC, it is a nonprofit, charitable organization whose mission is to empower Inland Northwest consumers to make wise decisions when buying and owning a home.

They do this through credit and pre-purchase counseling, referral services and by hosting Washington State Housing Finance Commission-sponsored Homebuyer Education Seminars, which let potential buyers know about programs that provide down payment assistance and low interest rate loans.

With SHORC’s clientele growing rapidly, so has its need for a larger facility. The Spokane Home Builders Association came to the rescue with an offer SHORC couldn’t refuse: a large suite of offices in the Home Builders’ building.

The new facility offers significantly more room to grow and even contains a classroom for educational seminars. That means SHORC can hold more classes than in the past, and help more clients.
