IT’S TRUE – AGAIN? Despite denials of a romance between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, new photographs reportedly show the couple on a beach in Africa.

The photos show Pitt, Jolie and her 3-year-old son Maddox playing in the sand and strolling on the beach. Pitt and Jolie aren’t shown being affectionate with each other.

Pitt’s publicist declined comment.

When Pitt, 41, separated from his wife, Jennifer Aniston, in January, there was tabloid speculation of a romance between him and Jolie, 29, his co-star in the upcoming film “Mr. and Mrs. Smith.”

In its April 18 issue, Us Weekly proclaimed on its cover, “It’s True!” over separate photos of Pitt and Jolie, accompanied by an article quoting employees of a California hotel who claimed they saw the couple being affectionate.

Pitt’s publicist called that story “completely untrue.”

Hospital report, take one

On the celebrity baby beat, singer Carnie Wilson and guitarist husband Rob Bonfiglio have welcomed their first child, a 7-pound, 2-ounce daughter named Lola Sophia.

The brown-haired, blue-eyed girl was born in the company of Wilson’s father, Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys, while the band’s “Pet Sounds” played in the background.

Meanwhile, Emily Robison of the Dixie Chicks has given birth to twins, Julianna Tex and Henry Benjamin. She and her musician husband, Charlie, also have a 2 1/2 -year-old son, Gus.

Her sister, fellow Chick Martie Maguire, also has a set of twins.

Hospital report, take two

• Comedian George Lopez has undergone a kidney transplant using an organ donated by his wife, Ann.

The couple “are resting comfortably in their Los Angeles home and are both expected to make a full recovery,” according to his publicist.

Mary Travers of Peter, Paul and Mary, who has been battling leukemia, will undergo a bone marrow transplant after finding a donor.

“We found a match – well, almost,” Travers, 67, writes in a posting on the trio’s Web site. “Nine points out of 10. I hate to say this but it’s close enough for folk music.”

• Phyllis Diller is recovering from surgery for fractures in her neck sustained when she fell out of bed at her Brentwood mansion last week.

The 87-year-old comedian even was cracking jokes heading into surgery, her spokesman said:

“Going into the operation, honest to God with the surgeon, she looked up at him and said, ‘You haven’t been drinking, have you?’ “

The ‘C’ does stand for chicken, right?

Former “Baywatch” star Pamela Anderson is calling for a boycott of KFC, the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals announced Tuesday.

“I’m asking people to boycott KFC until the company demands that its suppliers stop crippling chickens and scalding them alive,” says Anderson, who narrates a new five-minute video produced for PETA.

“No animals should have to suffer this way, whether they’re cats or dogs or chickens.”
