Name: Jerry Conklin

Age: 37

Hometown: Coeur d’Alene since age 5. Jerry is the second-youngest of nine children. His family arrived here from New Jersey in 1973.

Occupation: Owner of JC Sprinklers, a lawn irrigation business of six years. Jerry has been in the business for 14 years.

Family: Wife, Holly, a substitute schoolteacher. Holly graduated from Whitworth College last spring. Daughter Angela, 16, and sons Joel, 15, and Taylor, 13, at home. Two adult sons, Chad, 19 and Paul, 21 live in the Tri-Cities. Paul, who is in the Marines, just returned from Iraq. He turned 21 while in Iraq.

Hobbies: Restoring classic cars. He has a 1973 Nova and a 1968 Camaro that is a work in progress. Jerry enjoys snowmobiling in the winter, but summers are obviously his busy time.

Favorite movie: The “Austin Powers” series.

Favorite TV show: “Seinfeld.”

Favorite color: Blue.

Favorite food: All kinds!

Preference in music: Alternative or classic rock.
