Idaho Independent Bank adds branch in Star, now has 190 employees

From staff reports

Idaho Independent Bank said it has opened a branch in Star, Idaho — the Coeur d’Alene-based bank’s 10th location.

Most of the bank’s branches now are clustered in the Treasure Valley area around Boise, although it has locations in Coeur d’Alene and in Hayden Lake.

Idaho Independent was founded in 1993 and currently has 190 employees throughout the state.

The bank also recently announced financial results for the second quarter, ended June 30. Idaho Independent reported net income of $1.7 million, or 62 cents per share, versus income of $1.3 million, or 49 cents per share, in the second quarter of 2004.

Its assets were $445.3 million on June 30, up 15 percent from assets of $388.9 million on the same day in 2004.

Motorsports magazine launched

A one-man Spokane business, Publication Design Specialties, has launched a monthly newspaper called the Northwest Motorsports Report that’s distributed at racetracks throughout Washington, North Idaho and Western Montana.

Paul Delaney, owner of the company, has written a motorsports column for The Spokesman-Review for many years. He said he based the new publication on a hockey newspaper he’s been publishing for three years, the Northwest Hockey Report.

Delaney said he’d mulled the idea of a motorsports-focused publication for years, but it wasn’t until this spring that he got commitments from potential advertisers.

Northwest Motorsports Report’s first issue came out in April. It’s given away free at racetracks throughout the region. Delaney said he’s currently printing about 7,000 copies of the newspaper.

McGowan gets WSI franchise

Patrick McGowan, of Spokane, has become the Washington and North Idaho franchisee of WSI, a Web site development and consulting company based in Toronto.

Through the parent company, McGowan’s WSI franchise offers a range of services, from e-commerce tools to pay-per-click campaigns. Web site development is performed in one of 13 production centers worldwide, McGowan said.

McGowan said most of his work so far has been in Eastern Washington, since WSI has other representatives in the Seattle area. He’s located on the Web at www.wsieliteconsultants.com.
