Today’s players need remodeling

The Spokesman-Review

Bring back the Mick, the Babe and Hammerin’ Hank.

These guys were great players, not what we have today.

What we need is men who play professional-level sports after working a menial job for five years like we do and then they would appreciate what they have. They have no life experience. Mommy’s apron to baseball is all they know.

They should be paid for what they accomplish on the field, honestly and without drugs. We would then get the true players who know the sport. Not ones who look good but are still lacking in personality. Maybe then when they get a broken fingernail, they can still play at $45,000 per plate appearance. Maybe then when a sick child asks for an autograph, they will stoop down and sign it instead of saying a repulsive remark and walking away. How cruel is that?

Baseball needs to change for the betterment of the sport and get players who want to challenge the records of the great ones without artificial help. No Hall of Fame loser. But they will get there because of political aid.
