Color book created just for you

Cheryl-Anne Millsap Cheryl-annem@spokesman.com

If you’re scared of color, or scared of choosing colors for the interior of your home, the 200 sample palettes contained in “The Color Scheme Bible” by Anna Starmer could allay your fears.

Divided into chapters covering color theory, color and mood, and the effects of light – natural and artificial – on color in our homes, the book provides a lot of information.

The color palette directory shows coordinating and complementing colors and combines them in combinations with titles such as, “Bashful, shy and delicate,” which includes the colors of tangerine, orange blossom, “blonde” and a soft green called “cucumber sandwiches,” and “Business-like and smart” pulls together neutral shades titled, olive, faded charcoal and deep gray.

Illustrations of rooms decorated with color choices outlined in the book give an idea of the finished product.

The spiral binding makes the book easy to use if you want to carry it along as you shop for fabrics and paints.
