Recycling fair planned Saturday in Armory lot

Spokane Neighborhood Action Programs will present the Living Green ReUse Fair from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the Armory parking lot, 212 W. Second Ave.

The event gives residents an opportunity to donate household items they no longer use and pick up items that they could use.

A book and magazine exchange will be available, as well as a plant and gardening tool exchange.

A papermaking demonstration will be at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Information on energy and water conservation methods, recycling and composting will be presented.

All donated items must be clean, sorted and in usable condition.

No refrigerators or mattresses will be accepted. Take-out food container foam, aluminum or plastic won’t be accepted.

Some examples of items that will be accepted include: corks, craft supplies, egg cartons, exercise equipment, beads, animal bedding, buttons, hangers, fabric, jeans, keys, mason jars with or without lids, kitchen items, furniture, greeting cards, musical instruments, towels, yarn, records, pet supplies including food, puzzles (complete or incomplete), sports equipment, and yogurt cupts and other small plastic containers with lids.
