Nazarene Church holding street fair

First Church of the Nazarene, 9004 N. Country Homes Blvd., is presenting its second annual Old Fashioned Community Street Fair Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. in the church parking lot.

The afternoon will include puppies from SpokAnimal C.A.R.E., the Washington State Patrol’s drug dog, craft booths, a Spokane Fire Department ladder truck, McGruff the Crime Dog, and hot dogs from the Weiner Mobile.

Along with the activities, everyone can donate food for the Second Harvest Food Bank, general household items at the Goodwill truck, and blood at the Inland Northwest Blood Bank van.

There also will be information booths on career and volunteer opportunities at the FBI, Spokane Fire Department, Civil Air Patrol, Teen Challenge, Spokane Humane Society and other charitable organizations.

Outdoor concerts

• In celebration of 125 years of worship, Moran United Methodist Church is presenting a free concert at 65th Avenue and Freya Saturday from 6:30 to 9 p.m.

Entertainment will be provided by comedian Ed Antak, Bonnie’s Line Dancers and the Krasselt Family Singers.

The evening will also include a pie social at intermission.

The concert will be in the park, so bring your own blankets and chairs.

• The New Vision Free Lutheran Church is presenting Two for Life, a musical duo from Sioux Falls, S.D., Sunday at 11 a.m. at the south gazebo of Mission Park.

Jay and Jodi Marcum will play a variety of musical styles and will feature saxophone, piano and vocals. The two have been performing at churches throughout the United States and Canada.

Sacred rubble sale

The Unity Church of Truth, 2900 S. Bernard St., is hosting “Sacred Rubble: Unloaded” Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The sale is an opportunity for church members to donate items that customers can take for free; Crosswalk, the Spokane Humane Society and the Martin Luther King Jr. Center will be on hand to accept donations for the items taken.

Visitors to the sale can also bring items to donate.

Free movie

The Spokane Friends Church, 1612 W. Dalke Ave., is presenting a free movie on the church lawn Saturday at 7 p.m. The movie is one of the Narnia Chronicles series.

The movie will be family-friendly, and everyone should bring chairs and blankets.

Northwest Christian Schools Home Education Services is offering a home school open house today from 7 to 8 p.m. on the Northwest Christian Elementary campus, 1412 W. Central Ave.

Parents interested in enrolling their children in this home schooling program can learn about the programs and services NWC provides.

Yard sale

Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 3307 W. Rowan Ave., is holding a giant yard sale Saturday at 9 a.m.

The sale will offer hundreds of items, including collectables. The proceeds will benefit the church’s ministries.
