S. Perry shops will take part in Girls’ Day Out

The South Perry Business Association will participate in the city of Spokane’s Neighborhood Business Center Girls’ Day Out shopping event from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday.

Girls’ Day Out is a promotion of Spokane’s neighborhood business districts – South Perry, Hillyard, Garland and North Monroe.

Many businesses will be offering specials and freebies.

Shoppers along Perry Street can look forward to free samples of tea, a free rose or coupons for a discount on a massage. Gopher’s SHOP, 1015 E. Ninth Ave., will be having in-store specials as well as snowblower classes for women who always wanted to run a snowblower.

Liberty Park Florist will be hosting the Neighborhood Artist Show and Sale featuring artists who live in the neighborhood or the surrounding area.

East Central rummage sale

The East Central Senior Center will hold a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday at the center, 500 S. Stone St.

Items for sale include toys, clothing, knickknacks, furniture, books, bedding and Christmas decorations.

Free hot dogs and cookies will be served.

Lincoln Heights holiday fair

The South Side Senior Activity Center and Lincoln Heights Neighborhood Council are co-hosting a holiday fair from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 17 at the senior center, 3151 E. 27th Ave.

Booths are still available for a rental fee of $25. Deadline for application and fee is Dec. 12.

Kiwanis wine and dine night

The South Hill Kiwanis Club will host a spaghetti wine and dine night from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Southside Senior Activity Center, 3151 E. 27th Ave.

The buffet dinner includes spaghetti, and Alfredo, marinara and meat sauces, salad, bread and spumoni.

Tickets are $8; children under 6 eat for free. Proceeds will support local community projects.

“ The Manito/Cannon Hill Neighborhood Council will meet at 7 tonight at Wilson Elementary School, 911 W. 25th Ave. City Project Engineer Karen Turpak will present project plans and hear feedback.

“ The annual meeting and election of officers of the Moran Prairie Neighborhood Association will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Fire Station 81, Palouse Highway and 61st Ave.

Also, representatives of Spokane County Parks and the new Moran Prairie Library will make brief presentations and answer questions regarding the new park at Freya and 61st Ave. and the new library on Regal Street.
