NIC hosts Salt Lake, visits CSI

From staff reports

The North Idaho College men’s basketball team (11-0, 1-0 Scenic West Athletic Conference) puts its unbeaten mark on the line against Salt Lake at 7:30 tonight in Christianson Gym.

Salt Lake (8-1, 1-0), which won at perennial SWAC power Dixie last week, has six players averaging more than 8 points per game.

“They’re pretty balanced,” NIC coach Jared Phay said. “The 6-foot-7 kid (Viktor Dubovitskiy) shoots it well from the outside and he has good post moves. They’re kind of similar to us in that they go 8-9 deep and don’t really drop off.”

NIC center Tommy Craddock, who missed last Saturday’s game with a groin injury, is expected to play but his minutes might be limited.

NIC visits Southern Idaho (9-2, 2-0) on Saturday.

NIC sophomore forward Frank Clair was selected the SWAC player of the week after averaging 22 points in three wins last week.

The Cardinal women (7-4, 1-0) take on Salt Lake (6-2, 0-1) at 5:30.
