Derek Gianukakis had 28 points and 17 rebounds as Republic opened its Panorama League season with its 29th consecutive league win, a 72-51 victory over visiting Wellpinit on Friday night.

Zach Gianukakis added 25 points and nine rebounds for the Tigers (1-1, 1-0), who outrebounded the Redskins 40-24. Todd Orestad chipped in with 10 points.

Jake Green scored 21 points to lead Wellpinit (1-1, 0-1), and Chazz Flett added 16.

In other Panorama openers, Cody Groth had 19 points and nine assists as Curlew defeated visiting Inchelium 72-62. Tyler Carlson added 16 points for the Cougars (3-0, 1-0), while Cody Peone led the Hornets (0-3, 0-1) with 23 points and nine rebounds. Lance Ragan added 17 points and 13 rebounds for Inchelium. … Tucker Guglielmino scored 21 points and Northport (2-2, 1-0) routed visiting Columbia (0-1, 0-1) 81-34. Guglielmino and Stephen Pinc each had four steals to anchor the Mustang defense. … Henry Butler scored 22 points on 9-of-11 shooting and Wyatt Orme pulled down 10 rebounds as St. George’s defeated visiting Springdale 65-23. The Dragons (3-1, 1-0) shot 7 of 17 from 3-point range and had 26 steals. Jeff Vanderholm led the Chargers (0-3, 0-1) with six points and 10 rebounds. … Selkirk blew open its game with a 26-9 third quarter on its way to an 87-57 victory at St. Michael’s. Travis Zimmerman (18), Mikki Cromwell (16), Matt Reed (16) and Clint March (15) all scored at least 15 points for the Rangers (2-2, 1-0), who shot 57 percent from the field and outrebounded the Warriors 35-16. Ben Czapla led St. Michael’s (1-4, 0-1) with 16 points, and Nick Johnson added 14.

Andrew Canning hit a free throw with 10 seconds remaining and Lucas Brown took two late charges as Liberty held off Northwest Christian 56-54 in a Bi-County League opener at Spangle. Andy Hodgson led the Lancers (2-0, 1-0) with 15 points and Anthony Ansah added 14, including 10 in the second half, and seven rebounds. Karl Richardson scored 19 points to lead the Crusaders (0-1, 0-1), who trailed 29-18 at halftime and took their first lead early in the fourth quarter. … Cameron Stevenson had 15 points and 11 rebounds as Lind-Ritzville defeated visiting Almira/Coulee-Hartline 52-46. Nick Ashley led the Broncos (2-0, 1-0) with 16 points, hit a 3-pointer to take the lead with 2 minutes remaining and hit three late free throws to seal the win. James Saetre added 11 points, five assists and six steals for L-R, while Greg Giese led ACH (1-1, 0-1) with 19 points and six rebounds. … Michael Johnson had 16 points and 13 rebounds as Wilbur-Creston dominated Davenport 52-25 in Wilbur. Joel Sherwood added four 3-pointers and 14 points for the Wildcats (2-1, 1-0), who held the Gorillas (0-1, 0-1) to 23 percent shooting and outscored them 54-11 in the first, third and fourth quarters.
