Liberty Lake Municipal Library is celebrating the opening of its children’s library and hosting a book sale today.

The new center, one suite over from the current library, has more than 1,000 square feet of space to house the children’s collection. The city also hired librarian Bobbi Malone to work part-time.

Festivities run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a ribbon cutting at 11 a.m. Kids can enjoy balloons and a coloring contest. Refreshments will be served.

In the municipal library suite, Friends of Liberty Lake Municipal Library will hold a book sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Both libraries are located in Liberty Lake at 1421 N. Meadowwood Lane.
