Griffitts lifts Coeur d’Alene over East Valley

Kama Griffitts scored 14 points, including the go-ahead basket with 23 seconds left, as Coeur d’Alene used its size to overpower East Valley 53-50 in a non-league matchup Saturday at East Valley.

Lindsay Stark added 11 points for the Vikings (7-3), who shot 21 of 40 from the floor, including 5 of 11 from 3-point range.

East Valley (4-2), which has no one taller than 5-foot-10, got just 18 rebounds and was led by Elise Olk and Ashley Grater with 11 points each.

In other non-league action, Betsy Hechtner scored a game-high 15 points as Lewiston (6-5) held off visiting Clarkston (3-3) 42-40.
