Readers have spoken: the further north, the better the lights.

This year our annual holiday light show extravaganza ran on our Web site.

Instead of just running a lot of addresses, we picked out five spectacular displays, put them up online, complete with a video, and asked readers to vote for their favorite.

The competition wasn’t even close: Curt and Rene Miller’s display, at 7020 N. Calispel St. got 171 votes – that’s three times as many as the closest runner-up.

Committed Christmas light enthusiasts for years, they usually have more than 1,000 people stop by and Curt has been known to don a Santa suit and pass out candy canes to visitors.

All we can say is ho-ho-ho and congratulations.

To find the Millers’ house, go to Francis and turn north on Calispel, which is about three blocks west of Division. Continue north on Calispel until it ends, you can’t miss the house on your right.
