Beal’s run sinks Bears

North Central guard Eric Beal scored 10 of the game’s final 12 points and led the Indians to a 54-42 victory over visiting Moscow in a non-league boys basketball game Thursday night.

Beal finished with a game-high 21 points, while Damal Neil added 11 points and eight rebounds for NC (7-1), which outscored Moscow 26-12 in the fourth quarter.

Shane Miller led the Bears (3-3) with 15 points.

In other non-league action, Jon Clift scored 19 points and led a late Ferris rally as the Saxons (8-0) defeated visiting Diamond Valley of Melbourne, Australia, 64-58. Matt Johnston led Diamond Valley with 17 points and put the Aussies ahead with a 3-pointer with 3 minutes to play. … Cody Smith‘s only three points of the game gave Priest River a 52-51 overtime victory over visiting Selkirk. Zack Clow had 10 points and eight rebounds to lead the Spartans (4-4). Mikki Cromwell and Travis Zimmerman each scored 17 to lead the Rangers (7-3), and Cromwell put the game into overtime by hitting a 3-pointer with 13 seconds left in regulation. … Bryce Johnson scored 18 points and Justin Taylor added 16 points and 12 rebounds as St. John-Endicott defeated Lind-Ritzville 72-60 in Lind. Brent Leifer dished out 10 assists for the Eagles (7-2), who blitzed the Broncos with a 30-4 run to start the game. Cameron Stevenson scored a game-high 26 for L-R (3-4).

Josiah Menzies hit six 3-pointers and scored 23 points to lead visiting Coeur d’Alene Charter past Lakeside 72-56 in the consolation game of the Lakeside Christmas Tournament in Plummer. David Baker added 11 points and 13 rebounds for the Panthers (3-3). Samuel Torpey led the Knights (0-7) with 16 points.

Travviss Gibbar scored 16 points on 7-of-9 shooting to lead Rosalia (3-4) to a 48-43 victory over visiting St. Maries in the first round of the Rosalia Tournament. Zech Szalasi led the Lumberjacks (1-7) with 17 points. … Ray Stout scored 16 points and Warren Booth added 13 as Genesee defeated the Colfax JV squad 61-37. Jared Beraducci led Colfax with 18 points. … St. Maries will face the Colfax JV today at 4:30 p.m. in the consolation game, followed by Rosalia and Genesee for the championship at 7:30.

Lindsay Stark scored 13 points to lead Coeur d’Alene to a 37-33 victory over visiting Shadle Park in a non-league game. Jenna DeLong had eight points, seven rebounds and three steals for the Vikings (9-3), who took a 27-16 halftime lead, and freshman Kama Griffitts pulled down eight rebounds. Lexi Bishop scored 14 points to lead the Highlanders (5-2). … Lacy Hopkins scored 11 points and Tabitha Clark had eight points and four steals as Priest River (5-6) edged visiting Selkirk 49-47. Jessica Webb scored a game-high 14 points for the Rangers (3-6), who rallied from nine points down entering the fourth quarter for the final margin.

Nicole Remish and Madison Yakaboski each scored 13 points to lead Mount Si to a 49-44 victory over Moscow in the fourth-place game of the Holiday Hoops Classic in Ellensburg. Sara Picard and Kelsey Taylor each scored nine to lead the Bears (2-9), who took a 38-37 lead into the fourth quarter.

Amanda Smith scored 21 points and visiting Cusick routed Lakeside 67-35 to win the Lakeside Christmas Tournament in Plummer. Misty Ostlie added 15 points and Ashley Keogh 13 for the Panthers (7-1), who held the Knights to two first-quarter points and took a 33-11 halftime lead. Wynonna Johnson and Davi Swan each scored nine points to lead Lakeside (5-6), and Rian Miller had 10 rebounds. … In the consolation game, Megan Vogel scored 21 points to lead St. Michael’s to a 55-38 victory over the Lakeside JV. Katie Urann added 12 points for the Warriors (4-6), while Saundra Curley scored 13 and Liz Lampert pulled down 13 rebounds for the Knights.

Mallory Lehman had 18 points and six rebounds to lead visiting St. Maries to a 68-61 victory over Rosalia in the first round of the Rosalia Tournament. Karly Truscott added 11 points for the Lumberjacks (6-3), who shot 22 of 37 from the free-throw line. Clarissa Harston had 15 points and seven rebounds to lead the Spartans (2-5), while Susan Hodges had 10 points and 10 rebounds. … Megan Skow scored 10 of her 21 points in the third quarter and pulled down 10 rebounds as Genesee defeated Clark Fork 55-30 in the other first-round game. Juliana Sobczyka added 13 points and eight rebounds for the Bulldogs.
