Bjorklund returns to rally U-Hi past Ravens

Angie Bjorklund, playing in her first game of the season, hit a 3-pointer to tie the game with 24 seconds left, then hit three free throws in the final 10 seconds to lift University to a 68-65 victory over host Auburn Riverside in the Riverside Invitational at Auburn.

U-Hi completed its comeback from a 16-point deficit with Bjorklund’s 3-pointer, then the Titans took the lead after Auburn Riverside coach Adam Barrett was hit with a technical foul and Bjorklund hit 1 of 2 free throws.

Bjorklund scored 22 points and Dara Zack added 16 points and 10 rebounds for U-Hi (4-2), which outscored Auburn Riverside 26-10 in the fourth quarter. Stephanie Wilber scored 15 to lead the Ravens (6-1).

Bjorklund, who has made an oral commitment to Tennessee, had her junior season delayed because of a stress fracture in a shin.

•In other non-league action, Lindsay Stark scored 13 points to lead Coeur d’Alene to a 37-33 victory over visiting Shadle Park. Jenna DeLong had eight points, seven rebounds and three steals for the Vikings (9-3), who took a 27-16 halftime lead, and freshman Kama Griffitts pulled down eight rebounds. Lexi Bishop scored 14 points to lead the Highlanders (5-2). … Jenna Galloway, Lexi Lallas and Kirsten Bafus each scored nine points to lead Ferris to a 49-32 victory over visiting Bellarmine Prep. Galloway pulled down 12 rebounds and Lallas nine for the Saxons (3-4), who outrebounded the Lions 40-21. … Tiara Pittman scored 21 points as Mt. Spokane defeated Kentridge 46-41 to advance to today’s Seattle Christian Christmas Tournament championship. Sam Patrick had 12 points, nine rebounds and five steals, and Charlee Jackson pulled down 13 rebounds for the Wildcats (2-4), who will face Kennedy at 4 p.m. for a shot at their second straight tournament title.

Ellen Miller scored 13 points and Sydney Gossard added 12 as St. John-Endicott (7-2) defeated Lind-Ritzville 52-36 in Lind. Jill Cain had eight points and six rebounds to lead the Broncos (2-5), who had 23 turnovers. … Lachelle Ives had 19 points and six rebounds to lead Lake Roosevelt to a 49-43 victory over visiting Warden at Coulee Dam. Dana Bates scored 17 to lead the Cougars. … Lacy Hopkins scored 11 points and Tabitha Clark had eight points and four steals as Priest River (5-6) edged visiting Selkirk 49-47. Jessica Webb scored a game-high 14 points for the Rangers (3-6), who rallied from nine points down entering the fourth quarter for the final margin.

Jochelle Schatz scored 15 points to lead Chewelah to a 54-38 victory over Zillah on the first day of the SunDome Classic in Yakima. Jenny Polm added 12 points for the Cougars (4-2), who had 18 steals. … Lauren Mellor scored 17 points and Jordan Harazin 13 as reigning State 1A champion Colfax (6-2) defeated 3A Selah 62-52. … Jamie Thornton had 12 points and six rebounds in Pullman’s 44-31 loss to East Valley (Yakima). Krystal Smith added 10 points for the Greyhounds (4-2).

Amanda Smith scored 21 points and visiting Cusick routed Lakeside 67-35 to win the Lakeside Christmas Tournament in Plummer. Misty Ostlie added 15 points and Ashley Keogh 13 for the Panthers (7-1), who held the Knights to two first-quarter points and took a 33-11 halftime lead. Wynonna Johnson and Davi Swan each scored nine points to lead Lakeside (5-6), and Rian Miller had 10 rebounds. … In the consolation game, Megan Vogel scored 21 points to lead St. Michael’s to a 55-38 victory over the Lakeside JV. Katie Urann added 12 points for the Warriors (4-6), while Saundra Curley scored 13 and Liz Lampert pulled down 13 rebounds for the Knights.

Mallory Lehman had 18 points and six rebounds to lead visiting St. Maries to a 68-61 victory over Rosalia in the first round of the Rosalia Tournament. Karly Truscott added 11 points for the Lumberjacks (6-3), who shot 22 of 37 from the free-throw line. Clarissa Harston had 15 points and seven rebounds to lead the Spartans (2-5), while Susan Hodges had 10 points and 10 rebounds. … Megan Skow scored 10 of her 21 points in the third quarter and pulled down 10 rebounds as Genesee defeated Clark Fork 55-30 in the other first-round game. Juliana Sobczyka added 13 points for the Bulldogs. Rayna Allen scored 11 to lead the Wampus Cats (1-7). … Rosalia and Clark Fork will play the consolation game today at 3 p.m., followed by St. Maries and Genesee for the championship at 6.

Darci Dehn had 21 points and 12 rebounds as Davenport defeated visiting Colton 58-50 to win the Davenport Holiday Classic. Mallory Mielke added 18 points for the Gorillas (5-2), including a 3-pointer at the first-half buzzer to take an 11-point halftime lead. Sammie Druffel scored a career-high 22 points for the Wildcats (4-3), and Rochelle Druffel added 12.

Felicia Evans, Samantha Flett and Andrea Ford each scored eight points to lead Wellpinit to a 37-23 victory over Garfield-Palouse (2-4) in the Reardan Holiday Tournament. Flett also had eight rebounds for the Redskins (8-2). Gar-Pal will face Reardan tonight to conclude the tournament.
