Mt. Spokane wins Seattle tourney second year in row

Charlee Jackson had 10 points and 15 rebounds as Mt. Spokane won its second straight Seattle Christian Christmas Tournament with a 50-45 victory over Kennedy on Friday night.

Tiara Pittman scored 12 points to lead the Wildcats (3-4), and Sam Patrick added eight points and nine rebounds. Both players earned all-tournament honors.

Angie Bjorklund scored 20 points on 7-of-17 shooting as University defeated Snohomish 48-38 in the Riverside Shootout in Auburn, Wash. Dara Zack added nine points and seven rebounds for the Titans (3-5), who built a nine-point halftime lead. Tonya Schnibbe added seven points, six rebounds and four assists. Deasha Henderson scored 17 points and hit three 3-pointers to lead Snohomish.

Brooke Schanzenbach scored 13 points as Chewelah turned a close game at halftime into a 53-35 victory over Grandview in the SunDome Classic at Yakima. Jochelle Schatz added 11 points for the Cougars (5-2), who outscored the Greyhounds 33-16 in the second half. Kinzi Poteet scored a game-high 14 for Grandview. … Meagan Teade had 12 points and six rebounds to lead Colfax (7-2) to a 59-34 victory over Wapato for its second victory over a 3A school in as many days. Ariana Allen scored 11 points to lead the Wolves. … Depeel Nikki had 16 points and six rebounds as Hanford defeated Pullman 38-35. Kayla Ayers added 13 points for the Falcons, who jumped out to a 13-3 lead after the first quarter. Jamie Thornton had 11 points and eight rebounds to lead the Greyhounds (4-3). … Tana Stickney scored 17 points and Jamie Price added 11 as East Valley (Yakima) coasted to a 59-41 victory over Lakeside (Nine Mile Falls). Kia Gibson scored 15 points and Courtney Galvin 14 for Lakeside (3-4), which trailed 31-12 at halftime.

“Mallory Lehman scored 17 points and Darbie Shelden added 11 as St. Maries won the Spartan Christmas Classic in Rosalia with a 47-42 victory over Genesee. Megan Skow had 10 points and eight rebounds, and Lisa Davis had 10 points and four steals for the Bulldogs. The Lumberjacks (7-3) made their run in the third quarter, outscoring the Bulldogs 14-7. … In the consolation game, Liz Gelhaus had 17 points and five rebounds, and Rosalia held Clark Fork scoreless in the third quarter en route to a 42-34 victory. Ashley Widman added seven points and six assists for the Spartans (3-5), who forced 10 Wampus Cats turnovers in the third quarter. Tiffany Van Buren scored 12 points for Clark Fork (1-8) in its sixth straight loss..

Ashton Jeney hit a 3-pointer with 30 seconds left to give Reardan a 49-48 victory over visiting Garfield-Palouse in the Reardan Lions Christmas Tournament. Jen Christerson scored 13 points to lead the Indians (4-3), while Brook Ferderer had 11 points and 12 rebounds. Courtney Shoemaker led Gar-Pal (2-5) with 16 points.
