Yoke’s stores’ sales to aid MS Society

“Shop for Hope” at Yoke’s Fresh Market on Tuesday and support the National Multiple Sclerosis Society – Inland Northwest Chapter.

All Yoke’s stores in the Spokane area, Sandpoint and Kellogg will donate 5 percent of Tuesday’s gross sales to the MS Society.

Proceeds given to the society will assist local residents with MS by providing services and programs while also searching for a cure and educating the public about the disease.

“Federal Funding 101” workshop

A workshop to help local government agencies and nonprofit organizations receive competitive federal grants will be offered at Avista Auditorium, 1411 E. Mission Ave.

Tuesday’s workshop will be from 9 to 11 a.m. and is sponsored by Sens. Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell.

Representatives from the senators’ offices will present information on how to identify federal grants that organizations may be eligible to receive and how to apply for them.

“From the Heart” music marathon

The Coeur d’Alene Youth Orchestra will perform a fund-raising concert in the lobby of the Coeur d’Alene Resort Plaza on Saturday.

The musicians will play and collect pledges from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Have your teeth whitened for $99 now through March 31 and assist the Spokane Guilds’ School Foundation.

The foundation supports the Spokane Guild’s School and Neuromuscular Center, which provides services to children with developmental disabilities and their families.

C.O.L.T. Black Tie and Blue Jean dinner, auction

Make reservations now through Feb. 15 for the third annual C.O.L.T. (Changing Our Lives Together) Black Tie and Blue Jean benefit dinner and auction Feb. 26.

Tickets are $28 per person or $200 for a table of eight.

The event will be at the Red Lion Hotel at The Park from 5 p.m. to midnight.

C.O.L.T. is a youth program designed to ward off substance abuse and gang violence with the use and reward of equine experiences.
