Ole Kyllo

LaCrosse, Wash.

Funeral for Ole Kyllo, 86, will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Selbu Lutheran Church. Vault interment will be at Selbu Cemetery.

Mr. Kyllo died Friday.

He was born on the family farm near LaCrosse, attended the Mud Flat Elementary School and later graduated from LaCrosse High School.

He began farming with his parents and eventually took over the operation.

He married Barbara Eiden in Revillo, S.D. in 1950. In the mid-1950s he obtained his electrician’s license and started Kyllo Electric.

Mr. Kyllo was an active member of Selbu Lutheran Church and had served both as deacon and trustee. He helped start Boy Scout Troop 594 in LaCrosse and served many years as scoutmaster.

He enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling and sports. He was an avid fan of the Washington State University Cougars, Seattle Mariners and LaCrosse Tigers.

He retired from farming in the late 1980s but kept his electrical repair shop going for several more years.

His wife died in 1998.

Survivors include three sons, Jerome of Pullman, David of Evanston, Ill., and Donald of Walla Walla; a brother, Harold Kyllo of Spokane; a sister, Selma Carlson of Colfax; and three grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made suggested to the Selbu Cemetery Trust.

Robert Wilson

Spokane

Private service will be held for Robert C. Wilson, 81. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Wilson died Feb. 6. He was born in Spokane.

He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II in Tarawa, the Marshall Islands, Saipan in the Mariana Islands, New Guinea and Guadalcanal. He retired as an air traffic controller from Federal Aviation Administration in 1975.

Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Willa; a son, Robert Wilson Jr.; a daughter, Diane Roche; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Larry Vivian

Spokane

No service will be held for Larry Keith Vivian, 67, at his request. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Vivian died Feb. 5.

He was born in Marquette, Mich., to Clement and Hilma Reagan. At 7 months he was adopted by Kenneth and Bertha Vivian.

He graduated from Ispheming (Mich.) High School in 1956. After graduation he worked for a mining company, but when the company’s workers went on strike for an extended time, he and his first wife moved to Spokane. They later divorced.

Mr. Vivian owned a Mobil service station on the South Hill and worked for General Dynamics on various missile sites. He later worked for the city of Spokane on a survey crew in the engineering department and as a carpenter for several construction companies. He married Charlotte Marriott in 1964.

He was a member of Spokane Moose and Deer Park Eagles lodges. After he retired, he and Charlotte moved to the Ford-Wellpinit area.

He is survived by his wife.

Edward Shaw

Spokane

No service will be held for Edward E. Shaw, 91. Neptune Society handled the arrangements.

Mr. Shaw, who was born in Ione, Wash., died last Monday. He was a resident of Spokane for 57 years.

He graduated from Metaline Falls (Wash.) High School in 1941. He served in the Air Force from 1942 to 1945 in World War II, achieving the rank of second lieutenant. He was a bombardier.

In 1947 Mr. Shaw graduated from the University of Washington. In 1953 he graduated from Gonazaga Law School. He was a private attorney for 50 years, retiring in 2004.

He was a member of the Washington State Bar Association, the Spokane County Bar Association and Ducks Unlimited. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include two daughters, Laurie Elberson of Ketchikan, Alaska, and Ellen Kirschbaum of Spokane; and a son, John Shaw of Enterprise, Ala.; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren
