Columbia Basin beats CCS in 3 OTs

Derek Brown led six teammates in double figures with 25 points and also had 12 rebounds and five assists Wednesday as Columbia Basin College (13-14, 6-6) upended Community Colleges of Spokane 117-100 in three overtimes in Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges play at Pasco.

Brown (Mt. Spokane HS) scored 16 of his 25 points in the extra sessions and Alex Thornton, who finished with 15 points, made four 3-pointers in the second and third OTs.

Jordan Hammond scored 27 points to lead CCS. Joel Ryman added 20 points and Kyle Janke scored 18.

CCS (19-8, 9-3) maintained its one-game lead in the Eastern Division after Walla Walla handed Big Bend a 105-97 loss.

Women

Rachel Crane’s layin with 4 seconds left gave CCS (15-12, 8-4 NWAACC) a 43-41 win over CBC (20-5, 9-3) at Pasco.
