ACH wins Bi-County League championship

Almira/Coulee-Hartline started fast and ran away with the Bi-County League tournament championship Friday, steamrolling Sprague-Harrington 71-53 at Reardan.

The Warriors (21-2), the regular-season champions, open the District 7 B tournament against Inchelium, the No. 4 seed from the Panorama League.

Molly Gwinn scored 21 points, converting all nine of her free-throw attempts while pulling down nine rebounds, and Kami Clark matched her point total to lead ACH.

Abby Hatten drilled three 3-pointers and finished with 18 points to lead the Falcons (19-4), who open the district tournament against No. 3 seed Republic.

Liberty 55, Lind-Ritzville 53 (2OT): It took two overtimes, but the Lancers (16-8) prevailed in the longest game in tournament history. Liberty’s Laura Davis drained a pair of free throws in regulation to force the first extra period. Jessica Hahner took over from there, scoring nine of her game-high 20 points in overtime to secure the victory and the No. 3 seed into district, where the Lancers open with Curlew. Panthers paw Curlew

Cusick (22-1) took control in the middle two periods, downing Curlew 63-47 at Colville to win the tournament championship for the first time in school history. The Panthers outscored the Cougars 34-19 during the middle stretch. Cusick senior Kimberly Bluff posted a career-high 31 points by hitting 11 of 16 shots from the floor and 9 of 13 from the line, adding seven rebounds. Curlew (20-3) got 22 points from Nicole Miller.

Riverside earns share of crown

Riverside earned a share of the league championship with a 65-50 win over visiting Medical Lake. The Rams (16-4, 9-3) finished tied with Chewelah for first place in league. Playoff seeding will be determined by a coin flip Sunday at a meeting of GNL coaches. Angela Hartill posted 23 points to lead Riverside, hitting 10 of 14 from the field. The Cardinals (5-15, 1-11) were paced by Miranda Spilker’s 23-point effort. … Lakeside-Nine Mile Falls 58, Colville 56: Lakeside needed a 23-9 run in the fourth quarter to down the visiting Indians. The Eagles (15-5, 8-4) finish tied with Deer Park for third place. Sunday’s coin flip will determine playoff seeding. Tiffany Corigliano posted nine of her game-high 24 points in the fourth quarter to lead Lakeside. Colville (2-18, 1-11) got 21 points from Beth Johnson.

Harazin lifts Colfax in OT

Jordan Harazin scored five of her game-high 23 points in overtime to lift Colfax (14-7) to a 57-52 win over Kettle Falls (11-10) in the opening round of the tournament at Mead. Harazin scored a layup off an inbounds pass to knot the score with 11 seconds left in regulation. Colfax next plays top-ranked Freeman. Liz Beardslee scored 13 points to lead Kettle Falls, which plays Newport in a loser-out game. … Freeman 55, Newport 27: The Scotties (18-2) pressed in the first half and built a 36-15 lead at intermission. Freeman held a large advantage on the boards, led by Ashlee Taylor’s 10 rebounds. Jessie DePell led Freeman with 14 points. The Grizzlies are 9-12.

Garfield-Palouse (20-2) staked Waitsburg to a 13-12 lead after one quarter, then limited the Cardinals to four points the rest of the way to take a 43-17 win in the first round of the tournament at Walla Walla Community College. Brenda Hershaw scored 19 points and Monica Boone added 15 for the Vikings, who forced 26 Waitsburg turnovers. … Liberty Christian 44, Tekoa-Oakesdale 32: The Patriots built an eight-point lead in the first half and maintained it to earn the opening-round victory. Darcie Chappell paced the Nighthawks (15-8) with 13 points.
