Actually, Rock could use more like 60 minutes

First-time Oscar host Chris Rock, known for his frequent use of expletives, says the five-second decency delay on the telecast will be a welcome “safety net.”

“You know, you’re a trapeze artist … you welcome the net,” Rock said Sunday in an interview on CBS’ “60 Minutes.”

“I’ve been on TV and been funny not cursing,” he added. “As far as content is concerned, I will talk about the movies. I’m not really worried about it. I’m sure ABC is more worried about it than me.”

Rock also says that when he arrives on Oscar night, he may be traveling “small,” without an entourage.

“With a posse, you’re not letting the real world in,” he said. “And if you don’t let the real world in, you’re not going to be funny.”

Added Rock: “Donald Trump rolls pretty small, you know.”

Dude just lost his lady

Aerosmith lead singer Steven Tyler announced that he and his wife of 17 years, Teresa, are separating.

“We’re just a family trying to work through a difficult time,” Tyler, 56, said in a statement through his publicist. “A little privacy and sensitivity – for Teresa, my children and myself – would be nice.”

The couple have two teenage children, Chelsea, 16, and Taj, 13. Tyler is also the father of model Mia Tyler, 26, from a previous marriage, and actress Liv Tyler, 27, from a previous relationship.

Rough sailing ahead for Cruz?

Soccer star David Beckham‘s wife, Victoria – the former Posh Spice of The Spice Girls – gave birth Sunday to the couple’s third son, Cruz.

Victoria Beckham, 30, delivered the 7-pound boy by planned Caesarean section in a hospital in Madrid, where her husband’s team is based. Cruz has two brothers: Brooklyn, 5, and Romeo, 2.

Just one catch: Cruz is considered a girl’s name in Spain, where it’s taken to mean “cross to bear.”

Smith says: Don’t be a fish out of water

Fresh from the No. 1 debut of his first romantic comedy, “Hitch,” Will Smith has a little advice for that all-important first date.

“Competence is first and foremost,” Smith says. “You want to be seen doing something well.

“If you’re a great tennis player, you want to be seen on your first date playing tennis. You don’t want to be the guy that, you go to the sushi restaurant, you’ve never been there and you don’t know anything about sushi.”

Jamie Foxx, on his upcoming big-screen remake of “Miami Vice” with co-star Colin Farrell: “(I)t’s going to redefine cool. You’re going to see our Crockett and Tubbs suits and be like, ‘I want those.’ You’ll see our car and you’ll go, ‘I want one of those.’ And as for our women, man, you’re gonna be like, ‘Now I gotta get me some of that.’ “
