The Spokesman-Review

A Spokane woman was arrested Tuesday after allegedly causing a vehicle collision north of Interstate 90 on Pines Road and leaving the scene of the crash, the Washington State Patrol reported.

Jessica Demaine was driving east on Mansfield Avenue approaching Pines Road, when she failed to yield at the intersection, WSP said.

Another vehicle, driven by Melanie Hall, also of Spokane, collided into the rear of Demaine’s car, and Demaine immediately left the scene, WSP said.

Hall was injured and transported by ambulance to Valley Hospital and Medical Center, where she was treated and released.

Witnesses to the collision followed Demaine to a nearby residence and wrote down her license plate number, WSP said. Troopers were also able to follow tire marks from Demaine’s car to the home, where she was arrested.

Demaine was booked into the Spokane County Jail on suspicion of injury hit and run, WSP said.
