Kingsbury Foundation names grant recipients

The Mr. and Mrs. Henry B. Kingsbury Foundation of Wallace has awarded $3,900 to 17 local nonprofit and charitable organizations. An additional $2,000 was contributed to the foundation to increase and perpetuate the scholarship fund for next year.

Sierra Silver Mine Tour, $500; Wallace Civic Memorial Auditorium Association, $500; Wallace Public Library, $400; Nine Mile Falls Cemetery Association, $300; Wallace District Arts Council, $300; Silverwood Good Samaritan Center, $200; Lookout Pass Free Ski School, $200; Northern Pacific Depot Foundation, $200; Shoshone County Community Concert Association, $200; Mullan Youth Recreation Fund, $200; Mullan Public Library, $200; Sixth Street Melodrama, $200; Osburn Public Library, $100; Camp Fire Girls-Shoshone County Council, $100; Girl Scouts-Shoshone County Council, $100; Boy Scouts of America-Shoshone County Chapter, $100; Wallace District Mining Museum, $100.

The foundation was created in 1968 by the late Mrs. Alma R. Kingsbury to support local organizations. The Kingsburys were longtime Wallace residents.
