Do the Crüe

Rock stars go through the funniest phases when they hit middle age.

The last stage is the most spectacular: utter denial of the past decade or more spent in obscurity.

This phase includes what’s called the “righteous comeback” – and Mötley Crüe is smack dab in the middle of one and on its way to Spokane.

Lead singer Vince Neil recently made rocking controversial comeback press when he dropped an F-bomb on Jay Leno’s live New Year’s Eve broadcast of “The Tonight Show.”

Neil’s back together with the entire original lineup – Nikki Sixx, Mick Mars and Tommy Lee – and plans to rock the leather pants off the Spokane Arena crowd at its March 30 show at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are $39.50 and on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. through TicketsWest, 325-SEAT or www.ticketswest.com.

She’s the Gatekeeper

There is something disturbing about the part in the original “Ghostbusters” when Dana Barrett (Sigourney Weaver) gets possessed by Zuul.

Mainly, it’s that creepy demonic growling voice.

The same thing can be said for OTEP’s lead singer, Otep, but in a good way.

The blonde lead singer – who is one of the few frontwomen in the world of death metal – earns her cred the hard way. She pummels eardrums.

OTEP will join Head Charge, Candiria and The Autumn Offering at Big Easy Concert House on Jan. 30 at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are $15 and on sale now through TicketsWest.

Rock solid

Chevelle, Helmet, Crossfade, Future Leaders of the World and Strata are joining forces for the Winterfresh SnoCore Tour, which will stop at the Big Easy on Feb. 5 at 6 p.m.

Five heavy-hitting major label hard rock acts in one show – is that all?

Tickets are $25, on sale today at 10 a.m. through TicketsWest.

Some cowboy lovin’

It’s bound to be romance at its best when country yodelers Sourdough Slim and Wylie Gustafson sing “Cowboy Love Songs” at The Met on Valentine’s Day at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are $18 for adults, $13 for seniors and students, through TicketsWest.
