Heshka scores twice in Silvertips victory

EVERETT – Shaun Heshka scored two goals Friday night to lead the Everett Silvertips to a 2-0 victory over the Spokane Chiefs in Western Hockey League play.

In a relatively uneventful game that saw the teams combine for just 35 shots on goal, Heshka twice scored on deflected shots from the point on the power play, giving him five for the season.

Everett goaltender Michael Wall stopped 17 shots in his seventh shutout. It was Spokane’s sixth shutout loss, the second by the same score to Everett in 11 days.

Kevin Opsahl made 16 saves in goal for Spokane (13-20-7-1).

The game’s start was delayed 30 minutes by of a power failure.
