Pilot killed when plane crashes into house

Associated Press

COCONUT CREEK, Fla – A two-seat plane crashed into a house and burst into flames Saturday afternoon, killing the pilot, police said. No one else was injured.

The pilot was the only person in the plane, said Coconut Creek police spokesman Tony Avello.

The plane clipped the roof of the home owned by Steve and Traci Sandford, who both work for the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. It crashed into a yard shared by the Sandfords and Michele Kesian, and witnesses tried to extinguish the flames with garden hoses.
