Police investigating phone scam

Spokane Police are looking for information about a caller pretending to collect contributions for Bloomsday.

Police said anyone who receives a call asking for donations to the annual Spokane race should dial *57 immediately after the end of the call, then call police. The process will register the source of the call with the phone company,

Bloomsday chairman Don Kardong said the organization never calls asking for funds.

Police can be notified at (509) 532-9266 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. weekdays.
