Blue Demons breeze past Tulane 80-50

NEW ORLEANS – Jenna Rubino scored 18 points and Khara Smith had 16 points and 14 rebounds for her 12th double-double of the season, leading No. 18 DePaul to an 80-50 victory over Tulane on Friday night.

Smith had 14 points and 11 rebounds in the first half for the Blue Demons (14-3, 3-1 Conference USA), who seized an early lead with a 20-5 run.

Allie Quigley added 12 points, Caprice Smith scored 11 and Erin Carney finished with 10 for DePaul.

Reserve Courtney Simmons led Tulane (8-10, 0-5) with 11 points, and Jami Montagnino added 10.

DePaul shot 16 for 32 from the floor in the second half and finished with 53 percent shooting.

Tulane shot 28 percent in the first half and 9 of 23 in the second.
